If you’ve spotted a sultry blonde sporting a bold lip around Gastown it’s probably our very own superstar, Christina Orologio. This month we celebrate Christina’s one year anniversary with Pony, as well as her hard work and dedication, with a promotion at the salon!
Christina is a little 70’s Bardot and a little grunge. Her hair aesthetic gravitates towards undone and textured looks. While Christina is fantastic at all things hair, she is best known for her blonde highlighting services. As a blonde herself, she can relate to ladies out there who have “blonderexia”!
When she’s not at the salon you can find her lazy-ing around with her boyfriend, hanging out with friends and family, travelling, browsing pinterest for hair inspiration (naturally), and cooking. (Psst… ask her for her home-made, gluten-free Irish cream recipe.)
Originally from Port-Coquitlam, her journey to becoming a hair stylist was not always clear cut. She wasn’t always sure where or what she wanted to be. An artistic soul, she DID know she wanted to do something creative, something where she was constantly learning and interacting with other people. Finally, with some push from family and friends, she gave up a college soccer scholarship in her second year of studying human kinetics, and found… HAIR. And eventually, a home at Pony: “I am so thrilled to be a part of such a great crew and can’t wait to celebrate more hair-iversaries (anniversaries, ha…) here.”
Her tips for someone starting out in the industry? “Don’t give up! Make sure you’re always learning, keep up with latest trends, take advanced classes and don’t be afraid to ask questions.” In the next 5 years, Christina aspires to become a Bumble and Bumble Network Educator and sees herself continuing to grow, push boundaries and challenge herself at Pony.

“I like creating looks and wearable styles for my clients that will suit their personality and everyday life. I think we all have our personal brands to keep up with, whether it be low maintenance & natural, to big messy hair with lots of product”
